Soundscapes is a deep house and wellness festival set on the pristine beachfront of Bwejuu, Zanzibar. The festival is built entirely using traditional local materials – makuti, coral stone, local hardwoods, and cement- crafted to withstand the strong coastal winds and storms of Bwejuu.
The architectural concept blends timeless Zanzibari building traditions with modern spatial flow, creating a beachfront experience framed by coconut trees, natural textures, and open-air structures. Every element is constructed by a fully local team of architects, contractors, and suppliers who bring generations of knowledge to the project.
Art plays a central role in Soundscapes. Installations and visual elements are created by African artists, adding cultural depth and authenticity to the environment.
The result is a durable, culturally-rooted, and immersive festival space where music, wellness, and nature meet seamlessly by the ocean.
